Take Action!

A huge step forward! On October 30 the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee passed legislation S. 1302 by a unanimous vote. Congress is close to passing this important bill that would allow our local councils to avoid a spike of 40 percent in pension expenses set to take effect on January 1, 2014.

But only with your help will this bill come up for a Senate vote before Thanksgiving.

Please use the Take Action button to send a message to your U.S. Senators today! Without Congressional action, local Girl Scout councils will have to cut programs, lay off staff, and engage in other cost-cutting measures.

If you have questions, please contact Girl Scouts’ Public Policy and Advocacy Office at advocacy@girlscouts.org.
