More than 3,000 Girl Scouts, adult volunteers, alumnae, council board and staff members, and GSUSA National Board and staff members participated in 100th anniversary surveys and interviews. This collective vision is helping to shape plans for commemorating such an important milestone.
As you’ll see, GSUSA is planning many exciting events to reflect Girl Scouts as the voice of and for girls. At the same time, councils across the country are planning local and statewide anniversary events and activities. Girl Scouts - Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas will be holding numerous events throughout 2012 to celebrate this monumental occasion!

Come celebrate Girl Scouts' 100th Anniversary! We are hosting a gigantic Girl Scout party and we want YOU to be a part of history as we turn 100!
Mark the weekend of March 9-11, 2012 on your calendar and plan to join us at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock for a very special all-weekend event! Our Birthday Celebration will be one of the biggest, most exciting birthday parties around with activities targeted to all age levels and very special guests you will want to meet! Our surprise special guests will be announced soon. This will be a weekend of FUN with a peek into the past and a glance ahead at how Girl Scouts will be making the world a better place for the next 100 years! The 100th Anniversary Activity Guide is a great resource for all things 100th Anniversary! This "living" document will be updated regularly as more information becomes available, so be sure to check back frequently to stay up-to-date on Council events, as well as, GSUSA events and activities from other councils. Juliette's Legacy Trunk
Juliette's Legacy 100th Anniversary Activity Trunks are available for check-out from each regional office. Each trunk contains vintage programs and activities that reflect the 100 year history of Girl Scouting. These trunks can be checked out by Troops/Service Units for a period of 2 weeks by completing the check-out form. Check out requires a $25 refundable deposit. Upon completion of the activities, Juliette's Legacy patch can be ordered from a Council shop for $2 each.
100th Anniversary Illustrated Book
Girl Scout Merchandise secured a national licensing agreement with publisher Stewart, Tabori & Chang (a division of Harry N. Abrams) for an illustrated book celebrating Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary. The book, which was published in Fall 2011, and is available in book stores, other book-carrying retail venues, and Girl Scout council shops.
Commemorative Girl Scout Merchandise
A line of 100th anniversary Girl Scout merchandise is available in the Council shops. Items include T-shirts, messenger bags, and a collector’s series of patches and pins. Merchandise designed for girls are contemporary and future-focused, and there is a vintage-themed line for adults. Be sure to check out the Shop page for more information!
Exhibits Promoting Girl Scout History
The rich history of Girl Scouting’s first 100 years will be showcased in traditional and innovative ways nationwide. GSUSA is in contact with museums and organizations with potential to serve as showcase partners. A "rig book”/style guide will be shared with councils and history volunteers and will help guide the development of local displays and exhibits. Girl Scouts - Diamonds is working with local museums and organizations to finalize plans for showcasing Girl Scout History exhibits. Details are coming soon!
Girls' World Forum
In July 2012, the Girls’ World Forum, in collaboration with WAGGGS and Girl Guides in the United Kingdom, will take place in Chicago. It is anticipated that the forum will be comprised of two girls per WAGGGS member country and two girls per council. In early 2011, a "girl planning committee” was formed, consisting of girls from the host city’s council and National Girl Consultants.
Commemorative Girl Scout Silver Coin
Girl Scouts’ Centennial Commemorative Coin will be minted in 2013, marking the end of the celebration of our first 100 years and the beginning of our second century of leadership. Ten dollars from the sale of each coin will help fund much-needed renovations at the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace in Savannah, Georgia.
