In 2012, Girl Scouts will have its 100th Anniversary and in true Girl Scout fashion, we want to celebrate by giving back to the community! During 2011 and 2012 (January 1, 2011 - December 31, 2012) we are asking every Girl Scout across the Council to work together to give a combined total of 100,000 service hours to the communities served by the Diamonds Council. Although this is a large number, if everyone works together, we can achieve and even exceed our goal! Each girl is asked to submit her service hours individually, not as a troop (Ex. If a troop cleans a park for three hours, each member will submit their own form for three service hours.) All forms of service hours will be accepted, including service projects towards earning Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards. Volunteers are asked to turn in their service hours as well!
