Recognition Resources

Recognition Instructions:

Here are some ways to be sure nominations are appropriate and timely:

  • Recruit a Service Unit Adult Recognition Chairperson
  • Review the Award Summaries in the Adult Recognition Resources for an appropriate award
  • Review the recognitions previously received by the candidate with the Council Adult Development staff
  • Ensure the candidate has not been previously recognized for the same award
  • Use nomination/application forms included in the Adult Recognition Resources and online
  • Turn in the entire packet, including letters, before 5:00 pm on February 15th annually

How to Use the Recognition Resources:

Select an appropriate award.  Awards for Service Unit distribution (that are purchased by the Council) are given to the Service Unit up to two weeks prior to the Service Unit Recognition Event.

The Adult Recognition Review Committee reviews the nomination forms for service given by leaders and other volunteers in the Council.  The Council’s Adult Recognition Review Committee is comprised of five appointed volunteers who will work in conjunction with the Adult Development Department, and the Diamonds Council Board Chair to determine award eligibility, review nomination forms and required endorsement letters.

Informal recognitions and Thank You awards may be used throughout the year.  “Quick & Easy Recognitions” are included with ideas and resources in the last section of this The Adult Recognition Resources.  Use these as often as needed.
