How to Submit a Service Unit Award Nomination or Application:
- Review the Award Summary to determine the appropriate award
- Find out about previous awards the nominee has received
- Fill out the nomination form completely
- Solicit and collect all all endorsement letters before the deadline
- Make a copy of everything to keep for your records
- Submit the entire packet to Adult Development before the deadline
- Notify the Adult Development Department about community businesses, organizations, or individuals who will be recognized by the Service Unit
**NOTE** The person making the nomination may not submit an endorsement letter.
How to Submit a Council Award Nomination:
The Adult Recognition Review Committee reviews awards for service to more than one
Service Unit, Diamonds Council, or the entire Girl
Scout Movement.
- Review the Recognition Progression to determine the appropriate award for the individual
- Read the criteria and nomination form thoroughly. Be sure this recognition is the best award for the candidate. The Adult Development Department will answer any questions you have
- Address all criteria completely and provide detailed information (see sample letters). It is the sole responsibility of the person completing the nomination form to make sure all documentation is included with the application
- Provide a copy of the requirements for the award and sample letters to the people writing letters of endorsement in support of the nominee. The letters need to give examples of how the nominee fulfills the criteria
- The nominator is responsible for collecting and reviewing all information to ensure the nomination and letters document how how the nominee meets the award criteria. The packet includes the nomination form and all letters of endorsement. Make sure the packet is complete
- Copy the application and letters before mailing them. Keep a copy for your records
- Nominator should submit the entire packet to the Adult Development Department before the deadline
- Awards are presented at a time and place listed in the award profile. This could be at the Annual Council Recognition Ceremony and/or at the Annual Membership Connection Committee Inclusion Event (MCC), a Service Unit Recognition Event, or a Troop Ceremony
