"Everybody can be great because everybody can
serve." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Celebrate Dr. King's
legacy through hands-on service and meaningful learning at Lead with
Kindness: A Girl Scout Family Day of Service with Horses at Camp
NOARK. This ground-based, family-friendly event invites Girl Scouts
and their loved ones to give back by supporting our horses and the
camp they call home-while learning more about Dr. King's message of
unity and compassion.
Participants will rotate through warm,
indoor stations where they'll prepare enrichment kits for the horses,
clean tack and grooming tools, and create handwritten thank-you cards
for equine program supporters. Families will also spend time in the
Friendship Lodge enjoying cocoa, reflecting on Dr. King's teachings,
and taking part in short photo clips at our "Why I Serve"
photo booth to share what service means to them.
Throughout the
experience, Girl Scouts will reflect on how small acts of care can
contribute to a more just and kind world-honoring Dr. King's belief
that service is a path to greatness.
During
registration, families must select one session time-morning or
afternoon. All participants must wear thick blue jeans and
closed-toe shoes. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required
for all attendees.
