This interactive session teaches Girl Scouts how to use social media
responsibly and creatively to make a positive impact. Scouts will
learn the fundamentals of building an online presence-from choosing
visuals and writing engaging captions to understanding audience, tone,
and storytelling strategy.
Working in small groups, participants
will develop a mini social media campaign centered around a cause,
troop initiative, or community story. Using phones or tablets, they'll
create 3-5 original posts featuring photos or short videos that
communicate their message clearly and confidently.
Throughout
the workshop, Studio 62 instructors emphasize digital literacy and
media safety, including privacy, consent, and responsible sharing.
Pretend or demo accounts will be used for hands-on practice to ensure
a safe and supportive learning environment. Girl will earn the
following badges, Digital Leadership, Digital Photographer, and
Digital Movie Maker. Please Note: A minimum of 10 registered Girl
Scouts is required to facilitate this program. If fewer than 10
participants are registered, the event will be cancelled.
